What is Furry Paws?
Furry Paws is a free dog game that has run right in your browser since 2003. With over 1.7 million registered accounts and thousands of active users, Furry Paws is a game that many players have literally grown up with! Raise, train, show, and breed virtual dogs from over 220 breeds, compete in 19 dog sports, and dig into a genetics system deep enough to keep breeders busy for years, alongside a friendly community that loves dogs. Best of all, the game never demands anything from you. Play at your own pace, set your own goals, and enjoy the game your way.
Version 2 launched in 2012, and coming soon, in early 2027, Furry Paws is getting a much needed update. FP3 keeps the things players love while making everyday gameplay smoother, more convenient, and more rewarding. And don't worry! All existing accounts, kennels, and dogs are being preserved, the code itself is just getting an upgrade. Here are some of the highlights so far!
Take Your Dogs for Walks
Explore scenic trails with a leashed companion. Earn UXP, build your bond, and discover souvenirs and treasures along the way. Walks are a completely optional new way to spend time with your dogs, and they never affect competitive play.
Streamlined Dog Care
Everyday care takes fewer clicks. Vaccinate your dogs directly, customize training, and save your favorite competition settings, right down to preferred biases or preferring to enter your own competitions first. Running a big kennel and chasing your breeding goals is faster and easier than ever.
All New Breed Art
Fez, the main site artist for over a decade, is redrawing every breed for FP3. New coat lengths bring more variety to your kennel. Completing the new breed art for all 220+ breeds will take several years, but FP3 will launch with several new looks for a few dozen breeds available. Prefer the old look? You'll be able to preserve the retro art you love on your dogs.
Deeper Genetics
New genes, new markings, and more decisions for breeders who love digging into the details or players who just love pretty pixel dogs. Roan, ticking, brindle, merle, sable, wild-type agouti, and more all render beautifully on the new art. New genes like whitehead, domino, and sable add even more realism and depth to the color genetics system.
Dark Mode and a Better Mobile Experience
FP3 fits any screen. The new fluid layout adapts from desktop to phone, and dark mode follows your system preference or a manual toggle, so late night play is easy on the eyes.
Roll Over on Your Schedule
Start your new day when you are ready instead of racing the clock. User directed rollover, hireable kennel assistants, and plenty of other quality of life improvements make daily play smoother and more forgiving of real life.
