I'm currently doing a Border Collie breeding project with a special rule: I cannot use ANY dogs from Sale Listings or Breeding Listings. I breed my females once at 70 FP days and again at 100 FP days. I breed my males whenever needed. If at 50 FP days a male has a stat over 800, I will put them on Breeding Listings for 10 times the amount of the stat, but I won't put up my females for any reason whatsoever.
Once I get back to being monthly elite (Planning to start elite on June 6) I'll keep one puppy and put others for sale to prevent inbreeding. I'll start the bid at the puppy home price, but I expect higher. Highest bid will be accepted when the puppies are 5 days old.
Once I'm competing generation 5 Collies, I'm planning on starting an Icelandic Sheepdog breeding program with the exact same rule. If I can't balance both I'll sell the Icelandic Sheepdogs and either leave it until later or start over with a different breed.
For naming dogs, I'll come up with my first-gen names on my own. For second gen, I'll have a two-part name that uses the pup's parent's name. For males, it will be the sire, and for females, the dam. For third-gen pups, I will use the combined names of the pup's parents namesakes. For example:
Gen 1: M.Fire + F.Silver, M.Robin + F.Shadow
Gen 2: M. Fire's Hope + F.Shadow's Destiny
Gen 3: M.Fireshadow
Gen 4 will restart with new, original names, whether used by Gen 1 or new.
